Day-to-Day Itinerary

**Healing House also offers daily yoga to the community that you may attend free of charge.

Day 1: Arrival/Acclimatization/Opening Ceremony/Dinner

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked up and taken to Healing House in the San Blas neighborhood, your home away from home in Cusco for most of the next 10 days. Later in the afternoon, you’ll have your opening circle before heading to PachaPapa, a nearby Peruvian restaurant, to have dinner. It’s a great place to get acquainted with some local specialties but where it’s safe for foreign tummies. They even have pizzas for those who aren’t feeling adventurous (yet).

Day 2: Morning Yoga/City Tour/Andean Despacho Ceremony

Yoga from 7:30 to 9:00 this morning, followed by breakfast. At 10:00 am, you’ll be picked up by your guide for a city tour. After your tours of the archaeological sites, you’ll stop off to have a box lunch in the countryside, followed by a traditional Andean Despacho ceremony, giving thanks to Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apus (gods of the mountains). The Andean priest leading the ceremony has been learning and performing ceremonies since he was a small child. You’ll also have the opportunity after to buy some of the beautiful weavings that his wife makes.

Following the ceremony, you’ll head back down to Healing House. Dinner will be on your own.

Day 3: Morning Yoga/Market Tour/Free Afternoon/Evening Yoga

Yoga from 7:30 to 9:00 this morning, followed by breakfast. Our guide will meet us at the house and walk with us to San Pedro Market, where he will show us some of the many delicacies of Peruvian cuisine. Your free afternoon is the perfect time to explore Cusco for shopping, relaxing and visiting some of the museums located around the Plaza de Armas (with your included tourist ticket). Restorative Yoga in the evening.

Day 4: Morning Yoga Hike/Touring Sacred Sites/Evening Yoga  

Light breakfast followed by a morning hike to Temple of the Moon, where we will practice Yoga. After lunch, instead of a traditional tour, you’ll visit some sacred sites above the city with an Andean priest who will give you a more spiritual perspective of the Inca and pre-Inca cultures and the wisdom they left behind.

Day 5: Morning Yoga/Moray/Maras/Overnight at Aranwa Hotel/Evening Yoga

After breakfast, you’ll head to the valley to visit the circular terraces of Moray and Salineras, salt flats that have been used since Inca times. You’ll have a delicious buffet lunch (included) at Tunupa before checking in at the Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness. Relax by the outdoor pool or enjoy the privacy of the jacuzzi tub in your room. Yoga in the evening before dinner.

Day 6: Morning Yoga/Ollantaytambo/Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) 

Yoga at Aranwa from 7:30 to 9:00 or spend some leisure time at the hotel before being picked up at 11:00am by your guides and transport. You’ll head off to Ollantaytambo where you will tour one of the most important Inca sites in the valley, as well as the town itself, as it was 500 years ago, with many original walls and waterways.

We will take the train from here to go to Aguas Calientes, the town below Machu Picchu. You’ll be on the Vistadome train with panoramic windows that allow for the best view of the landscapes as you travel under snow-capped mountains, past Inca ruins, and finally ending up in the cloud jungle that surrounds Machu Picchu.

You’ll check into your hotel and have a bit of time to rest and freshen up before going to dinner.

Day 7: Machu Picchu 

Your guides will pick you up at the hotel at 8:00am to take the bus together up to the historic site. A box lunch will be provided. You won’t be able to eat inside the site, but you can dig in as you wait for the bus back down. Your return train is at 3:20pm, arriving back in Ollantaytambo at 5:08pm. Your bus will be waiting to take you back to Healing House.

Day 8: Morning Yoga/Free Day/Closing Circle & Dinner 

Yoga from 7:30 to 9:00 this morning, followed by breakfast. After that, free day for self-care. Book a craniosacral therapy with Marissa, a massage with Cheryl or Reiki with a Healing House therapist.* Walk around town, go shopping or just chill at the house -- whatever you need. Closing circle and dinner at a local restaurant in the evening.

Day 9: Relax at Healing House until you are picked up for the airport to head home.
