“Children NEED Touch! Touch therapy research has demonstrated that nurturing touch for children is critical in establishing the foundation of their overall sense of well-being. Normal affectionate touching is important, however, a regular routine of massage therapy for a child promotes more integrated physiological, neurological, and psychological development and function. When children experience different forms of touch, they create their own feelings and beliefs about the types of touch they receive. Without appropriate amounts of nurturing touch, they may become susceptible to inappropriate and confusing touch, feel the effects of neglect, and may not develop to reach their full potential. Just as important as a child’s physical and cognitive development grows based on receiving rich tactile experiences. For children specifically, significant aspects of their emotional development is established through healthy and appropriate touch.” – Tina Allen, Founder of Liddle Kidz Foundation
