A massage that manipulates the body using alternating long and short strokes, increasing circulation as it relieves tension, aiding in the body’s own restorative powers.

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY (BIODYNAMIC)

Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy is educated, precise, noninvasive touch that supports your body's innate ability to heal. BCST restores balance in the core of the body, your central nervous system. When the nervous system has more balance and ease, your body can devote more of its resources to healing and tissue repair.
A massage targeted towards structural injuries, overuse injuries and repetitive stress. Our therapists have additional training with these conditions and will focus specifically on the muscles related to the condition. Some of the most common conditions we see are: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, TMJ, Frozen Shoulder, Migraines, Tendonitis and Sciatica.
Ashiatsu is a deeply relaxing therapy, where the therapist uses her feet and body weight to relax the muscles. The therapist must have coordination, balance, as well as a skilled but instinctual ability to apply the appropriate amount of pressure to different areas of the body. We use the bars for balance, allowing the sensitivity of our feet to focus on musculoskeletal alignment and pain relief. This style of work is great for anyone who wants deep, compressive pressure along large muscle groups and is looking to relax. Although it is much different from a traditional Swedish massage, the long, slow strokes can be quite sedating, and really allow for the client to "zone out" (once they've gotten over the mystery of being massaged with the therapist's feet!).
GENTLE / PALLIATIVE MASSAGE
This is a gentler approach that works superficially with the connective tissue to provide you with an opportunity to connect with your body while working with the autonomic nervous system to give you a space where you can rest from the fight-or-flight state that we often feel moving through our days.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as in Swedish massage but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles and the fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles).

This unique massage combines Swedish techniques with the heat of the stones to warm and relax the muscles, allowing the therapist to apply deeper pressure, if desired. The warmth of the hot stones improves circulation and calms the nervous system, helping to rebalance the body and mind.
PRENATAL / POST-PARTUM (PREGNANCY) MASSAGE
Pregnancy massage focuses on the dramatic structural, physiological and psychological ways a mom-to-be is changed and challenged during this time. While not intended to replace appropriate medical care, it can enhance this special time by relieving some of the common discomforts related to pregnancy – including postpartum – such as neck, back and hip pain as well as the stress of being a new mom! Some of our therapists are trained to work with more complicated prenatal issues. Please inquire for more details.
Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than more classic forms of massage. Thai massage is also called Thai yoga massage, because the therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches. Many people say Thai massage is like doing yoga without any work. Muscle compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure are also used during treatment. People describe Thai massage as both relaxing and energizing. Wear comfortable clothes, as you will be fully dressed during the session.

Our Corrective Movement & Training program focuses on helping individuals achieve functional strength, flexibility, painless posture and an overall balanced body and mind. We want to meet you where you are in your current state, establish your goals and objectives and use a mindful, integrative approach to help you learn more about your body and feel empowered to improve your health. Devon has a dynamic background in movement education and bodywork and will work with you to improve your whole body's ability to move so that you can safely progress toward your fitness goals. Sessions will be custom tailored drawing from a range of modalities.
Oncology massage is the modification of existing massage therapy techniques in order to safely work with complications of cancer and cancer treatment. Anyone who has ever received cancer treatment, from those in active treatment to those in recovery or survivorship, as well as those at the end of life, are best served by a massage therapist who has received training in oncology massage.
Intended to help increase mobility and range of motion of restricted joints due to past injury to the musculoskeletal system, compensations and postural stress. This session will help to increase flexibility in inflexible areas and help to restore healthy joint balance. We will use passive and active and neuromuscular stretching techniques to promote healthy extensibility of the muscles. Please wear comfortable athletic wear appropriate for a yoga class.
