Marissa Gandelman, LMT, BCST, FounderLicensed Massage Therapist, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, Certified Stress Management Instructor
Marissa is a Connecticut native and considers herself very grateful to be able to bring high-quality wellness and holistic healthcare to New Haven. A licensed massage therapist and Certified Stress Management Instructor, Marissa is a creative and intuitive therapist who believes massage can do something for everyone. From relieving the stress and tensions of everyday life, helping to heal new or previous injuries, or helping to manage the symptoms of neuromuscular conditions, massage therapy can have a place in everyone's health care regime.
Marissa’s interest in the health benefits of CBD (cannabidiol) is partially due to her own success with using it to manage anxiety. CBD has shown to be a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It also increases levels of serotonin and anandamide, which reduce pain and anxiety. Marissa continues to stay current on CBD research to share accurate, reputable information with the community.
Marissa graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism. Upon graduation, she began a career as an editor and eventually moved on to speechwriting. She sought massage therapy to ease the stress of her hectic lifestyle and to maintain a sense of well-being. Inspired by how well massage therapy improved her life, she decided to become a therapist to help others do the same.
Marissa moved to Cusco, Peru, in 2010, where she lived, built a private practice and co-founded Healing House, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the healing arts. She travels to Peru regularly to continue her work with Healing House, the local community, and her own personal healing and growth.
Marissa continues to run and develop Stress Management workshops for local businesses and schools in Greater New Haven and plans to expand them throughout the state. She lives in New Haven with her husband.

In dealing with and caring for not only the injuries, but her body as a whole she's realized the amazing benefits of bodywork and body awareness. So much the better for all the work, she's dedicated herself to paying forward the effort put into her care in order to care for others.
Edward Haberli, L.Ac., M.Ac., Dip.lAc.Licensed Acupuncturist
Ed Haberli L.Ac., received his Master’s degree in Chinese Acupuncture Styles from the New England School of Acupuncture. The program, located in Newton, MA, is the oldest in the U.S., and consists of over 2,700 hours of instruction. He is nationally Board Certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and Licensed by the state of CT. Prior to this, Ed was granted his B.S. in Biology from the University of New England. A lifelong interest in the human body, both disease process and healing, led Ed to come into a healing art such as acupuncture.
Born and raised in Meriden, CT, Ed is a true native to the area. Ed graduated from O.H. Platt High School in Meriden, where he assisted the head athletic trainer in evaluation and rehabilitation of athletes. Leaving CT only to attend both university and graduate school, Ed returned to the state with admission to help build both the reputation and acceptance of acupuncture. A unique exposure to alternative healing, very early in life, led Ed to seek out alternative methods of healing the body. While maintaining an interaction and appreciation for Western, orallopathic, medicine and its uses, he sought a better and more integrated method to the healing of not only disease, but the whole person.
Ed’s interests in the improvement and rehabilitation of athletes has carried over from his earlier experiences, but has also branched out to include all facets of human health. His Acupuncture training in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), has prepared Ed to be a general acupuncturist, able to treat a variety of conditions ranging from musculo-skeletal disorders, such as sprains, strains, sore muscles, and osteoarthritis, to issues of women’s health concerns, digestive disorders, and respiratory disorders such as asthma, as well as stress reduction and alleviation of its symptoms. He uses a variety of traditional techniques beyond acupuncture including electro-acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, and tuina (massage).

Her personal interest in the hormonal issues that many women face transitioning from one phase of life to another has led her to additional study, particularly in the challenges of menopause.
An herbalist as well, she will often combine both an acupuncture treatment plan with an herbal formula to improve patient results.
After maintaining a successful private practice overseas for the past decade, Maureen decided to move back to the Northeast this year and work with us at Elm City Wellness.
